Artist Statement

I am a landscape photographer. Wilderness is my favorite subject, which is one of the reasons I live in Alaska. I love capturing nature in all her moods and at many scales, from the macro view of the delicate autumn fireweed cotton to the grand vistas of Alaska's mountain ranges, glaciers and seashores. I capture images as a pictorial journal of my outdoor adventures as I make my way through nature's landscapes on foot or by bike, kayak or skis, and for many years with my buddy Zip. And while I certainly delight in exploring and capturing famous landscapes, like Denali National Park, I equally relish my journeys through less heralded, but no less spectacular, landscapes that few visit.
